Simple Makeup Tips from Pretty Little Liars

The best part about watching a TV show such as this, is taking a look at the beautiful makeup on the cast of Pretty Little Liars.

What's best about the show is the fact that most of the girls wear very little makeup (if any, sometimes). It's easy to recreate by using simple products you can find at your local drug store or beauty supply store.

Let's take a look at the makeup on each of the four main characters.

ARIA

For this subtle look, use a liquid foundation, such as Maybelline Dream Smooth Mousse, to get that shiny, but clean effect. For the eyes, use a tint of brown eyeshadow first, then use a liquid eyeliner (my favorite is the N.Y.C. HD Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner in Soft Black). To top it off, use a volumizing mascara to add to the intensity of her eyelashes. Try using Maybelline Illegal Length Fiber Extensions Mascara. Add some soft blush to the cheeks, then use a soft pink lip stain for the lips, any brand that you feel comfortable with. Following all of these steps will recreate Aria's subtle, but beautiful, look seen here.

EMILY:

The one thing I love about Emily's character is that she always wears very minimal amounts of makeup. With this look, the three thing's you'll need are bronzer, mascara and lip stain.
Take some bronzer, I suggest Almay Smart Shade Powder Bronzer (because it contours to the color of your face, and blends in perfectly). Use the bronzer, and with a bronzing brush, gently swipe up and down your cheekbones, until you can see a slight difference in the color on your skin.
For mascara, anything will do, but since it's not as volumizing as Aria's, I suggest using something like CoverGirl Lash Blast mascara. For the lip stain, a soft pink, like CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain Everbloom Kiss, will do.

SPENCER

For one of the more dramatic looks, featured in one of the special Halloween episodes on the show, Spencer looks stunning in smoky eye/red lip combination. To start, use some blush to contour your face. Next, for the eyes, use a combination of silver and black eyeshadow. Mix it together, and add silver eyeshadow in the corners. The combination of silver/black gives it a classy, smoky eye look. For the eyelashes, I suggest using falsies (but only for a few hours or so); Ardell fashion lashes are the best ones to use. Last but not least, the red lipstick, which totally ties this whole look together, NYX Lipstick in Chic Red would work best.

HANNA

Hanna's look is extremely subtle, but still completely perfect. For this look, a powder foundation works better, because it doesn't look as shiny, as say Aria's above. Almay Smart Shade Loose Powder would work best, because it matches your skin tone perfectly. Apply using a foundation brush, so that the powder doesn't go all over the place (it can get a little messy). For her eyes, a soft brown eyeshadow along with a subtle, not too dramatic, liquid eyeliner would do. For the lashes, use a mascara that is in between a volumizer and a clump crusher (the last thing you want is for clumps in your mascara). Maybelline Volum' Express Mega Plush would probably work well for this look, because the volume isn't that major with that brand. Finally, a soft pink/peach lipstain on the lips would work the best. N.Y.C. Smooch Proof 16 HR Lipstain, Orange on the Go, would finish off this look.

The best thing about all of these products is that they are mostly all $10 or less :)
